Mogalakwena Complex, in partnership with one of its contractors Paramount Trucks donated a multifunctional printer, 10 wheelie bins to Langalibalele High School and a cash gift.
The school is situated in Ga-Molekana village closest to Mogalakwena mine and has been struggling with a printer that was not operating and was especially problematic during examination periods, this impacted the matriculants the most. The school principal appealed for help from Mogalakwena mine and his appeal was met with enthusiasm from the mine. Mogalakwena mine management assessed other areas of needs for the school and partnered with one of its contractors Paramount Trucks to meet the needs identified by also donating wheelie bins that will assist the school in ensuring garbage is sorted and stored away from learners and educators to avoid health risks associated with exposure.
Speaking during the delivery of the gifts, John Nkuna PMO Manager at Mogalakwena mine said “Anglo American Platinum takes its social responsibility to heart and we hope our donation will help improve the learning environment for the learners of Langalibalele and that they will become future leaders who will contribute positively to the betterment of their communities.”
Innocent Masenya, Managing Director of Paramount Trucks, emphasised that this involvement is not just a matter of financial donations, but about giving back to communities and inspiring positive change. He also thanked the school for the opportunity to participate in the project.
Langalibalele High School principal, John Matsoma thanked Mogalakwena mine and Paramount Trucks for these thoughtful gifts which will go a long way in supporting the delivery of quality education and noted that this is a start of a partnership journey between the school and the mine in nurturing future leaders.
